Cyprus Emporiki Bank was established in Cyprus under the trading name of COMMERCIAL BANK OF GREECE (CYPRUS) LTD in 1993 and operated with five Branches.
During this period, emphasis was given to the development of cooperation with enterprises and large organizations through the granting of loans and deposits.
In 2001 the Bank changed its status to a subsidiary of the EMPORIKI BANK GROUP (renamed from Commercial Bank of Greece S.A.) with the participation of Cypriot shareholders.
In 2004 the Bank expanded its network of Branches to 12 units to better service its clientele throughout Cyprus.
As of August 2006, EMPORIKI BANK GROUP is part of the CRÉDIT AGRICOLE GROUP, CASA, France.
