Cosmos Insurance Company Public Ltd was founded in 1981 by K.M.Tyllis & Co Ltd and Cosmos General Insurance SA of Athens, Greece. K.M.Tyllis & Co Ltd were the sole agents of Cosmos General Insurance SA in Cyprus since in 1972. In December 1999, the Company adopted new articles of association and from a Private Limited Company it was transformed to a Public Limited Company. In March 2000 the company’s stock was listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange under the name of “Cosmos Insurance Company Limited”. In July 2004, in accordance with the new European Union Directives, the Company’s name was changed to “Cosmos Insurance Company Public Ltd”.
